Description

This easy peach cobbler recipe uses canned peaches and cake mix to create a sweet, golden-brown dessert with a soft, buttery topping. Perfect for beginners and ready in just minutes!

Ingredients

For the Peach Filling:

  • 2 cans (15 oz each) sliced peaches in syrup, drained
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • ¼ cup brown sugar
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • ½ tsp nutmeg
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch (optional, for thickening)

For the Cobbler Topping:

  • 1 box (15.25 oz) yellow cake mix
  • ½ cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, melted
  • ½ cup milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

Step 1: Prepare the Peaches

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Drain the canned peaches and place them in a greased 9×13-inch baking dish.
  3. Add sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, lemon juice, and cornstarch, stirring to combine.

Step 2: Make the Topping

  1. In a bowl, mix cake mix, melted butter, milk, and vanilla extract until combined. The batter should be slightly thick but pourable.

Step 3: Assemble and Bake

  1. Pour or spoon the batter over the peaches, spreading it evenly.
  2. Sprinkle a little extra brown sugar and cinnamon on top for extra crispiness.
  3. Bake for 40-45 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and firm.
  4. Let it cool for 10 minutes before serving.

Step 4: Serve and Enjoy!

  1. Serve warm, topped with vanilla ice cream, whipped cream, or caramel drizzle.

Notes

  • Want extra crunch? Add chopped pecans or walnuts on top before baking.
  • For a firmer crust, let the cobbler sit for 15 minutes before serving.
  • Make it dairy-free: Use almond or oat milk instead of regular milk, and vegan butter.
